Apprenticeship Employer Certificate Launched
The GTC has been involved in the development, review and
promotion of the Governments Apprenticeship Scheme, as it acknowledges both golf
club employers and greenkeepers requirements.
The new Government seems committed to the Apprenticeship
Scheme and funding, albeit reduced, will be channelled in the direction of Centres
offering the Scheme.
In recognition to employers supporting the Apprenticeship
Scheme a Certificate may be claimed by employers from the Apprenticeship
Service.
Those golf clubs with Apprentices registered with an Approved
Centre may have already been made aware of the Certificate by their chosen
Centre however, for more information on the Certificate click here:
For golf clubs looking at recruiting an Apprentice visit the GTC Quality
Assured Centres all offering the Apprenticeship in Greenkeeping.
David Golding GTC's Education Director adds, "an apprentice
supported by a committed Course Manager, employer and staff from a GTC Quality
Assured Centre is what the future of the game of golf relies on. The
Apprenticeship Scheme provides the opportunity to supply the sector with
knowledgeable, skilled and professional greenkeepers for years to
come".
