Update on Trailblazer

Thank you to everybody who took the time to complete the recent Survey to assist the GTC in developing a new Apprenticeship Standard for a Golf Greenkeeper.

The GTC Trailblazer working group will be "signing off" the new Standard at a meeting on 22 May and the next stage will be for the Business, Innovation & Skills Department to present the Standard to the Minister in June.

There is still much work to do and the GTC will be posting regular updates as qualifications, funding, delivery of the apprenticeship are discussed through the Trailblazer Working Group.

The Trailblazer Working Group has representatives from England Golf (employers), BIGGA (Professional Body for Greenkeepers), Centres (colleges) Lantra and City & Guilds (Awarding Body).

The GTC sees this as an excellent opportunity for the industry to improve the current Apprenticeship programme within the Government's latest initiative to improve the quality of Apprenticeships in England, Trailblazer.
